In May 2016, Dong Weilong was on duty in Daliuzi when he suddenly received a call from the fishing supervisor for help. The fisherman Li Ming’s boat was broken. At that time, the gust at sea reached level 10 and the sea conditions were quite bad. Dong Weilong did not care about personal safety and led the crew to drive the boat to cooperate Other rescue vessels carried out search and rescue. At about 6 o'clock in the evening, the boats from the Beihai Yingkou Rescue Brigade brought the distressed ships ashore. Due to the timely rescue, the people and ships were finally safe. It was only then that Captain Dong Weilong's hanging heart was released, and then he retreated to the safe area and returned to Hong Kong from the wind.

One day in August 2017 at about 5 pm, Captain Dong Weilong received a call from Manager Wu Xiangdan and asked for help from a fisherman's boat near Dongnanzui. Due to a machine failure on the boat, one of the fishermen was seriously strangled by the machine due to improper operation. The situation is very critical. We needed our cooperation to bring the fishermen ashore safely and quickly. After receiving the help, Dong Weilong immediately organized the crew to drive the speedboat to the sea area where the rescue occurred. At that time, it was cloudy with light rain and the visibility was extremely low. The group arrived near the sea area of Dongnanzui and quickly searched for the accidental boat. After finding it, the injured fishermen were safely sent to Dagang Wharf.

When confronted with such a call for help, he always said that we were obliged to do so; however, the people he rescued were unforgettable for the rest of their lives. Whenever he received the pennant from the rescued fishermen, he was always humble and said that this was what he should do.

In 2014, various marine operation vessels frequently appeared near Clam Gang. In order to prevent poaching, the nursing work entered a tense period. The crew of the two nursing vessels were all on duty, and everyone took turns to rest, 2 people at a time. On August 24, near the southeast mouth of Clam Hill, there was an operation vessel rubbing the edge of Clam Hill, and the guard ship No. 15019 was monitoring it. Dong Weilong was the captain of the care boat No. 15019 at the time. Suddenly, his expression was solemn, his hands were on his waist, and sweat dripped from pain. Captain Wang Jinghui wanted to send him to the hospital on land by speedboat. He firmly disagreed, saying that he had to insist on duty. At night, the pain was unbearable, so he asked his teammates to bring a towel, bite the towel and insist. The teammates persuaded him to go to the land to see a doctor many times, but he refused. He was strong and persevered for the whole night. At dawn, after the operation boat was evacuated, Dong Weilong was sent to land by the captain under everyone's persuasion. After examination, the appendicitis has perforated and has caused abdominal infection. The doctor said that it is life-threatening and needs immediate surgery. Fortunately, after the hospital's full-scale rescue, Dong Weilong turned the corner.
