On November 8th, 28 freshmen from the 2020 freshman class of Shenyang Agricultural University-College of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine came to Panjin Guanghe Crab Industry Co., Ltd. for field observation and study under the leadership of the head teacher Hu Qingbiao.

Li Xiaodong, chairman of Panjin Guanghe Crab Industry Co., Ltd., also serves as the director of aquaculture at the College of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine. "Problems and Prospects" and other aspects of live lectures to students.

The students also observed the aquatic biology laboratory, the water environment chemistry laboratory, the molecular laboratory, and the aquatic animal nutrition laboratory. The graduate students from Shenyang Agricultural University and Dalian Ocean University introduced the ongoing research topics to the younger students. The subject content covers the ecological research of rice-crab symbiosis, the behavioral research of river crabs, the nutrient absorption and transformation of river crabs, the study of shell color of Penaeus vannamei, and the study of life history of Limulus.

In the factory nursery workshop, Zheng Yan, the head of the crab breeding project of the Photosynthetic R&D Center and a professor-level senior engineer, introduced the breeding of the red-shell crab family to the students, and showed the students the live red-shell crab.

Xi Wenqiu, director of the white shrimp farming project team of the Photosynthetic R&D Center, introduced the farming situation of Penaeus vannamei to the students.

Director Li Xiaodong gave a lecture on "Producing Ecological Products and Building Blue Granaries".

The teaching method of on-site observation made the students refreshing and entertaining, cultivated the students' interest in learning and created a strong learning atmosphere, laying a solid foundation for the cultivation of a new generation of aquatic professionals.
