800 units were named as the first batch of national popular science education bases in 2021-2025. Recently, the China Association for Science and Technology officially announced the list after preliminary evaluation, final evaluation and publicity.

27 units from our province, including Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Museum, Shenyang University of Science and Technology Weapons Museum, Dalian Jinshitan Museum of Mysteries of Life, Chaoyang Bird Fossil National Geopark, and CGN Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Base, are among them.

In order to implement the "Outline of Action Plan for National Science Literacy (2021-2035)", unite and lead the majority of scientific and technological workers and popular science workers, and improve the ability of social science popularization work, the China Association for Science and Technology has launched the national science popularization education base identification work.

The national popular science education bases are mainly divided into 6 categories: science and technology venues, education, scientific research and major projects, "agriculture, rural areas and farmers", enterprises, natural resources and other categories. As a representative of science and technology venues, the permanent exhibition of Liaoning Science and Technology Museum consists of five exhibition halls: Children's Science Paradise, Exploration and Discovery, Creative Practice, Industrial Cradle, and Science and Technology Life, as well as fun space and public space exhibition areas. The exhibition content covers physics, chemistry, astronomy , life science, aerospace technology, information network and other disciplines, there are a total of 764 exhibition items, covering 900 knowledge points, and 95% of the interactive exhibition items.

The Science and Technology Museum has 13 science studios and 1 multi-functional classroom, covering basic science, life science and frontier science, focusing on cultivating students' hands-on ability, exploration ability and cognitive ability of scientific knowledge.
