In order to completely solve the crisis of industrial development, the Aquatic Technology R&D Center of Panjin Guanghe Crab Industry Co., Ltd. has used the crab germplasm resources of different geographical populations to form basic groups since 2000, and carried out selection and breeding work. Every year, 660 mu of paddy fields are used to form more than 200 breeding groups. After 12 years and 6 generations of continuous group breeding, in 2011, a new variety of river crab "Guanghe No. 1" with independent intellectual property rights of photosynthesis was officially born, and passed the examination and approval of relevant ministries and commissions. The variety registration number: GS-01- From 004 to 2011, it became my country's first new species of national trial river crab suitable for farming in northern regions.
"Guanghe No. 1" takes body weight and size as the main breeding indicators, with fast growth, large size and high survival rate. Compared with the common fry in Liaohe River, the catch rate of button crabs increased by 48.59%, and the size of adult crabs increased by 25.98%. The breeding of new species has achieved a new breakthrough in river crab industry technology, and ended the history of my country's river crab breeding completely relying on wild seedlings.
At present, the market share of "Photosynthesis No. 1" in the north exceeds 60%. Since its promotion in 2012, the total sales of Larva Photosynthesis No. 1 have accumulated to 90,000 kilograms in Panjin and other areas, and the sales of first-year crab species have reached 27,000 tons. The project "Breeding and Application Promotion of New Variety of "Guanghe No. 1" River Crab" won the first prize of Liaoning Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award in 2015.
Panjin Guanghe Crab Industry has also become a leading enterprise in my country's river crab industry. After serving as the chairman unit of the National River Crab Industry Science and Technology Innovation Alliance established by the Ministry of Agriculture in 2016, it became the chairman unit of the China Fisheries Association River Crab Branch in 2018. In 2019, the company was recommended by the Panjin Municipal Government to be elected as the chairman unit of the Panjin Crab Industry Alliance.
